1,Read the following text and answer the questions that follow :

     A small portion of the Alipore zoo director’s finger was severed after a chimpanzee bit it on Wednesday afternoon, said officials of the hospital where he was treated.

Asis Kumar Samanta was feeding Babu, the thirty-three year old chimpanzee, when he spotted something like an insect on Babu’s nose and tried to remove it. “But the chimpanzee bit his finger,” said V.K. Yadav, member-secretary of the Bengal Zoo Authority.

Samanta was taken to the SSKM Hospital. “A small part of the tip of his left index finger was severed when he came to us. There was a fair amount of bleeding. He needed one stitch and an anti-rabies vaccine. It was not a major wound and should heal soon,” a hospital official said.`

This is not the first time Babu had reacted with ferocity while being fed by Samanta. In 2018 February, when Samanta was trying to feed Babu, the chimpanzee had held him by the arms and pulled him closer. The iron bars of the cage separated the two and the director managed to push Babu away to set himself free.

असिस कुमार सामंत तैंतीस वर्षीय चिंपैंजी बाबू को खाना खिला रहे थे, तभी उन्होंने बाबू की नाक पर कीड़े जैसा कुछ देखा और उसे हटाने की कोशिश की। "लेकिन चिंपैंजी ने उसकी उंगली काट ली," वी.के. यादव, सदस्य-सचिव, बंगाल चिड़ियाघर प्राधिकरण।`

सामंत को एसएसकेएम अस्पताल ले जाया गया। “जब वह हमारे पास आए तो उनकी बायीं तर्जनी की नोक का एक छोटा सा हिस्सा कट गया था। काफी मात्रा में खून बह रहा था। उसे एक टांके और एक रेबीज रोधी टीके की जरूरत थी। यह एक बड़ा घाव नहीं था और जल्द ही ठीक हो जाना चाहिए, ”अस्पताल के एक अधिकारी ने कहा।

यह पहली बार नहीं है जब सामंत द्वारा खिलाए जाने के दौरान बाबू ने क्रूरता से प्रतिक्रिया दी थी। 2018 फरवरी में, जब सामंत बाबू को खिलाने की कोशिश कर रहे थे, तो चिंपैंजी ने उन्हें बाहों में पकड़ लिया और उन्हें करीब खींच लिया। पिंजरे की लोहे की सलाखों ने दोनों को अलग कर दिया और निर्देशक बाबू को खुद को मुक्त करने के लिए दूर धकेलने में कामयाब रहे।

Konnagar Book Fair

Staff Reporter, Konnagar, 3rd October 2021: For Konnagar’s book lovers, the good times have begun. The annual Konngar book fair started  on 2nd October at Ma Shakuntala Kali Mandir Math with an inauguration by Konnagar’s honourable chairman.It will be continued till 20th October 2021.

According to the organisers, this year’s total number of book stalls are 40. Here are not only books stalls but also food corners where puchka,ghugni etc are famous.People are happy and  especially school children are enjoying the book fair. 

                                                        कोन्नगर पुस्तक मेला

स्टाफ रिपोर्टर, कोन्नगर, 3 अक्टूबर 2021: कोन्नगर के पुस्तक प्रेमियों के लिए अच्छा समय शुरू हो गया है। कोंनगर के माननीय अध्यक्ष द्वारा उद्घाटन के साथ 2 अक्टूबर को मां शकुंतला काली मंदिर मठ में वार्षिक कोंगर पुस्तक मेला शुरू हुआ। यह 20 अक्टूबर 2021 तक जारी रहेगा।

आयोजकों के अनुसार इस वर्ष पुस्तक स्टालों की कुल संख्या 40 है। यहां न केवल किताबों के स्टॉल बल्कि फूड कॉर्नर भी हैं जहां पुचका, घुगनी आदि प्रसिद्ध हैं। लोग खुश हैं और विशेष रूप से स्कूली बच्चे पुस्तक मेले का आनंद ले रहे हैं।
